Force Sensors

The tensile force can be determined using force sensors and regulated via a drive control system. The measurement is taken directly on the product, for example, using rollers connected to a force measurement device. Depending on the required accuracy and the magnitude of the tensile force, various methods are employed for force measurement.

These include pressure sensors and strain gauges, as well as piezoelectric and electromagnetic methods, which are referred to as force and pressure sensors, or transducers, or load cells.

Fundamentally, a very precise measurement of the tensile force can be achieved with a force measurement head. The demand on the drive control system is very high because any deviation in the drive control immediately leads to a change in the tensile force.
